Africa Women’s Development Fund programme supports established women’s rights organisations, small, locally based organizations active in Africa. The foundation offers two types of grants- Main & Small. The main grants are given to support local, national, sub-regional and regional organizations in Africa working towards women’s empowerment. The small grants are intended to support small, community/rural based grassroots women’s groups, which are most likely not to have access to any financial support or meet the eligibility criteria for AWDF’S main funding programme.
AWDF awards grants in two cycles each year. Applications can be sent at any time.
