The Peace Development Fund (PDF) was founded in 1981 with a vision of funding social justice and peace through a public foundation.
Grants and Programs
- Community Organizing Grants Program – The Community Organizing Grants Program is PDF’s annual grantmaking docket. Currently PDF funds organizations in the United States, Haiti and Mexico through the Community Organizing Grants docket. PDF’s next Community Organizing Grant cycle will open fall 2015.
- Donor Advised, Community Advised and Designated Grants Program – Through this funding program PDF provides its more than 30 years of experience in grantmaking to donors who are interested in funding specific interests.
- Fiscal Sponsorship Program – PDF hosts these fiscally sponsored projects as part of our commitment to serve the social justice movement, offering grants, training and other resources to communities and grassroots organizations, building the long-term movement for social, economic and environmental justice, human rights and democratic principles.
- Discretionary, Special and In-Kind Grants – PDF may also have special grantmaking funds or discretionary grant funds that allow PDF and its donors to meet funding needs to specific communities or to respond to specific emergencies.
- Capacity Building Program – This is to build the capacity of grassroots organizations through a combination of multi-year grants, training, organizational development assistance, strategic convening and support for collaboration among groups working on common issues.
