The Rockwool Foundation initiates and implements practical interventions within four strategic programme areas. The aim is to achieve lasting and sustainable improvements in poor as well as in rich societies. Projects should be based on Social Entrepreneurship that offers a new approach or original thinking. The total amount applied for can be above DKK 100,000.

About Rockwool’s Food Security & Poverty Alleviation (Livelihood) Programme
The Rockwool Foundation supports activities promoting alleviation of poverty and hunger through developing sustainable small scale farming & (agri) businesses, small farmer groups with good governance, as well as micro financial initiatives and thereby creates the foundation for economic growth.
Past Projects
- Rural Initiatives For Participatory Agricultural Transformation (RIPAT) to practice good agricultural techniques to the farmers in Tanzania.
- The Rockwool Foundation and DanChurchAid are co-operating in setting up village banks in Malawi to ensure that rural populations have access to financial services.
Eligibility Criteria
- The project should fall under one (or more) of the four strategic programme areas and must be longer than a 1 year intervention.
- The project should be developed by an organisation – and must be designed to benefit a group of persons or society (not single persons).
- Supporting projects and initiatives which develop sustainable smallholder agriculture in rural areas will be prioritised.
How to Apply?
Applications can be submitted electronically following these steps:
- Step 1: Prepare the project application directly at the Rockwool Foundation homepage using the application form.
- Step 2: The proposal will be assessed by the relevant programme staff who assess the quality of the project before the final decision is made by the Board.
- Step 3: Applicant will either receive a refusal letter or a letter of donation stating the conditions under which the donation has been granted.
