The U.S Fish and Wildlife Service International Affairs under National Strategy for Combating Wildlife Trafficking is seeking applications in order to provide grants to combat wildlife trafficking.
Objectives
- Strengthen Enforcement: Global Enforcement
- Support Governments in Building Capacity
- Support Community-Based Wildlife Conservation
- Support Development and Use of Effective Technologies and Analytical Tools
- Reduce Demand for Illegally Traded Wildlife
- Raise Public Awareness and Change Behavior
- Promote Demand Reduction Efforts Globall
- Expand International Cooperation and Commitment
- Strengthen International Agreements and Arrangements that Protect Wildlife
- Cooperate with Other Governments (Bilateral and regional)
Award Information
- The approximate amount of funding available under this program is US$1 million.
- USFWS anticipates issuing 10 awards for US$100,000 or less to be used for projects lasting one year
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants under this program can be: individuals; multi-national secretariats; foreign governments; US and foreign non-profit, non-governmental organizations, community and indigenous organizations; and US and foreign public and private institutions of higher education.
- S. non-profit, non-governmental organizations must submit documentary evidence of their Section 501(c)(3) or (4) status as determined by the Internal Revenue Service.
- Applicants must be registered in SAM at the time of pre-proposal submission.
