The IKEA Foundation is an independent charitable foundation that oversees IKEA’s global philanthropy. The foundation resides in Netherlands and it funds dozens of programs run by large and small organizations to make life better for children living in extreme poverty
The foundation mission is to create substantial and lasting change by funding holistic, long-term programs in some of the world’s poorest communities that address children’s fundamental needs: home, health, education and a sustainable family income.
Empowering Women and Girls Program by IKEA Foundation
IKEA Foundation Grants provides education, skills training, improved healthcare, or loan to set up small business to empower women and to improve children’s health and future opportunities. The foundation basically helps women in Asia, Southern Africa, and Brazil.
Eligibility Criteria
- IKEA Foundation supports programs managed by established and well-regarded NGOs ((non-governmental organizations) and IGOs (inter-governmental organizations).
- The Foundation support should assist people in need, primarily in the developing world, to help them make real and lasting changes in their lives and lead them to take control of their own futures.
- All programs are designed to help people help themselves to a better life. They have a definite time limit and are often designed in close co-operation with local and national governments to ensure sustainability.
