The Netherlands Fellowship Program is inviting applications from working professionals in government, non-government or private organizations in one of the NFP Countries for Innovation in Social Work & Processes of Legitimating and Accounting of Social Work Training, being conducted from 1 September 2014 through 30 January 2015 in Christelijke Hogeschool Ede, Christian University of Applied Sciences (CHE). The major objective of the fellowship program is to help increase the number along with competencies of skilled staffs in government and non-government organizations working in the sector of Social Work. This program includes living cost, tuition fees, visas, travel & insurance of fellowship holders as specified in NFP Rules and Regulations. Women and those working in Sub-Saharan Africa are strongly encouraged to apply.
The training course is divided into two parts. In the first part, fellows will focus on the profession of Social Work using real-life situations. They will develop a welfare renewal project that focuses on the challenges Dutch Social Workers face in real life. Small groups of Dutch and international students will conduct research on an existing problem. Each group will share their findings and will also develop an implementation plan supported by scientific evidence. The fellows will also attend several classes to learn about Dutch culture in relation to social work in the country and they will visit various social work organizations. After the visit, each fellow will present his or her comparative analysis of the organizations visited as a part of the training course, in written. In the second part, fellows will attend weekly classes with students and professors and learn about European Culture and My Personal Worldview. Topics covered include European Culture and diversity in today’s world.
Eligibility Criteria –
- Applicant must have at least 2 years of study in social work/pedagogy or equivalent study in social sciences and must be fluent in English.
- Applicant must be working professional in and from one of the NFP Countries.
- Applicants must be nominated by their employer in order to be considered for the Fellowship. A clear need for training within their organization must be documented.
- Applicants must have a minimum of 3 years of work-related experience and must be able to implement new knowledge and skills into their organization.
