The Taiwan Foundation for Democracy (TFD) is the first national democracy assistance foundation to be established in Asia, and is devoted to strengthening democracy and human rights in Taiwan and abroad. The Foundation’s primary concerns are to further consolidate Taiwan’s democratic system, to promote democracy in Asia, and to participate actively in the global democratic network. The Foundation is committed to the vision of working together with like-minded organizations and individuals, building on Taiwan’s experience to advance a new wave of democratization worldwide.

Democracy and Human Rights Service Fellowship
Democracy and Human Rights Service Fellowship are open for applicants who are interested in pursuing projects with a more practical focus.
Award Information
The TFD awards all Democracy and Human Rights Service Fellows with a stipend of NT$45,000 per month.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants from all countries except Taiwan are eligible to apply for the fellowship program.
- Applicants should possess an MA or equivalent in a field relevant to the proposed project at the time of application.
- Applicants should have at least two years of relevant work experience.
