The International Women’s Media Foundation is calling women journalists to apply for Howard G. Buffett Fund. The grant is to help women journalists and talented reporters to undertake ambitious projects, pursue training and leadership opportunities.
The IWMF will grant total amount up to $230,000. Four rounds of funding will be conducted every year for next ten years.
The International Women’s Media Foundation is a Washington-based organization that is dedicated to strengthening the role of women journalists worldwide. The IWMF celebrates the courage of women journalists who overcome threats and oppression to speak out on global issues.
Eligibility Criteria
- An applicant must be a woman journalist.
- Team of journalists can also apply, but the team leader must be a woman journalist and the group must include at least 50 percent women.
How to Apply
- Applicants will have to provide following details:
- contact information
- Brief description of the project or opportunity you are seeking funding for
- If applicable, a list of any other team members or applicants
- Description of the purpose of the proposal and the issue/problem it is designed to address
- Estimated budget and time frame
- Three letters of recommendation
- Each applicant will have to create a username and password through the online application system.
- Letters of recommendation must be submitted through the online system. Applicants will be provided an online link to share with recommenders to facilitate letter submission.
- Applicants receive a confirmation e-mail once a completed grant proposal has been submitted.
- Applicants and grantees retain their intellectual property rights throughout their relationship with the IWMF.
