Deadline: 20 April 2015
The Foundation for Human Rights is accepting applications for the AMARIGHTZA Socio-economic Justice for All-(SEJA). The purpose of FHR is to provide support to access to justice imperatives through its flagship programme to Community Based Advice Offices (CAOs).
The Foundation intends under the SEJA programme to provide 100 grants through Calls for Proposals to Advice Offices. At least 15 offices will be selected from a “closed call” to CAOs previously funded by the Foundation and that have been recommended by a study commissioned by the FHR.
About AMARIGHTZA
AMARIGHTZA programme also known as ‘Socio-economic Justice fro All-SEJA’ was launched by the Foundation in partnership with the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development (DOJ&CD) on 10 December 2014.
The AMARIGHTZA programme is primarily aimed at promoting the rights of vulnerable and marginalized groups. While persons living in extreme poverty should not simply be reduced to a list of vulnerable groups, it is trite that discrimination and exclusion are among the major causes and consequences of poverty. Persons living in poverty often experience disadvantage and discrimination based on race, gender, age, ethnicity, religion, language or other status.
