We start this week with UK based charity Breast Cancer Care who have launched a stunning new poster campaign that promises to inspire women to be confident in their bodies following treatment. First, the images that will soon be hosted on billboards in London, Cardiff and Glasgow from this week:
The beautifully captured images and powerful messages including photos of women who have had breasts removed via mastectomy were widely celebrated upon their release.
Samia Al Qadhi, Breast Cancer Care’s chief executive, said her organisation was inspired to create the campaign after conducting research which showed that three in four people felt less confident in their bodies following treatment for breast cancer. More than 50% of people surveyed said they felt uncomfrotable undressing in front of their partner whilst nearly two thirds said that their experiences had changed their feelings about forming future intimate relationships.
“We want to bring this issue to light and get people talking about it,” Al Qadhi said. “This campaign shows that it is possible to find confidence after a breast cancer diagnosis and treatment.”
What do you make of the campaign? Would these posters inspire you to donate to a breast cancer charity? Let us know in the comments.
