The American Lung Association is offering Senior Research Training Fellowship Award to support training of recently graduated MDs and PhDs seeking further academic training as scientific investigators researching the mechanisms of lung disease and general lung biology.

The Fellowship Award is for $32,500 per year.
Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must be United States citizens or foreign nationals holding a visa immigration statuses(mentioned on the pdf)
- MD or DO applicants must also have completed their clinical training, have some research experience, and be in their 3rd or 4th year of fellowship training at the time of application.
- PhD applicants must be in their 1st or 2nd year of postdoctoral training at the time of application.
- Applicants should be on-track to pursue a career in lung disease research with a sponsor who has a demonstrated history of research experience and mentorship.
- Individuals completing a secondary post-doctoral training, residency training or who have been appointed to a tenure track position or equivalent are not eligible for this award.
- This award does not permit the recipient to engage in the private practice of medicine during the support period.
