Lilly MDR-TB Partnership and The International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease are sponsoring a all-expenses-paid Tuberculosis Research Media Training Fellowship 2015 for journalists to learn about lung health issues and cover the 46th Union World Conference on Tuberculosis and Lung Health in Cape Town, South Africa.
The training will take place from 1st to 3rd December 2015.
This is an intensive three day crash course on lung health and how to report responsibly and engagingly on these issues. It will expose the fellows to the latest science, ideas and developments relating to TB, tobacco control and other lung health problems.
Focus Topics
- TB in children
- What’s the relationship between TB and diabetes?
- Global tobacco control
- Global plan to stop TB
- TB and HIV-AIDS
- Other lung diseases, including asthma, COPD
Eligibility Criteria
- All training sessions will be in English, so proficient spoken and written English are essential.
- All applicants must be working journalists with at least three years experience covering health issues.
- Special though not exclusive consideration will be given to journalists from countries with a high burden of TB.
