The Hertie-Stiftung is one of largest foundations in Germany that seeks to support innovations for change. The Foundation supports projects in neuroscience, European integration, and education for democracy.
Grant applicants must have a seat or a permanent establishment or at least one representative in the European Union.
The Foundation does not support: printing of publications; translations; bridging budget gaps; requests for reimbursement for participation in congresses, conferences and training; acquiring and maintaining collections; preservation of monuments; construction; and individuals grants to outside organizations own scholarship programs.
The Foundation does support: personnel costs, travel expenses, and material assets.
