In this section you have to describe anticipated outputs, outcomes, results and intended impact of the alliance.
Outputs
Outputs are deliverable, which are tangible products of the intervention such as goods, services, knowledge, skills, attitudes etc. that are achieved or created by the project interventions as a result of the activities undertaken. If necessary inputs such as money, human resource, time and others are available then the project team is accountable to the achievement of outputs. In our project examples, outputs can be “Number of women that successfully completed training”, “Number of women’s groups formed”
Results
While outputs of the project are immediately delivered, results are delivered in a short – term. Outputs can be measured immediately i.e. number of women completed training can be measured just after the training has finished, but result takes some time. In our example result can be “Number of women engaged in a job”, which takes some time to measure.
Outcome
Outcomes are same as the objectives. Please see discussion of objective section. But you may re-write objective as output like “Increased competitiveness of Bangladeshi IT Outsourcing firms”. Here we have started the sentence with “Increased” instead of “To” as in objectives.
Impact
Impact is the long term objective that the project wants to contribute. This is the main goal of the project and should focus on the core problem of the project. In our example it can be read as: “To contribute to women empowerment in Bangladesh”. One single project cannot achieve that goal; it depends on many other external factors. It may even achieve long after the project is completed. In your limited project time you cannot just empower all women in your working area. But through community mobilization you can create an enabling environment for women education, training that in the long run creates employment opportunities for women in your society.
