8. Brief discussion of how the key activity will be sustainable without continued USAID funding after the GDA program ends;
Evaluators will give special attention on sustainability aspects of your project. So, you should carefully describe how you will ensure sustainability of your action. If you closely look at our project example 2, then you can see that the action itself is sustainable in nature. There are basic four methods in this project:
- Revolving credit fund, each participant will repay you with some interest rate, so you can continue without further support from Stromme Foundation if it is managed well.
- Social marketing of contraceptives; in social marketing you will partner with XYZ pharmaceutical to develop and distribute low cost contraceptive which is affordable for poor people. You can also reserve 10% for very poor people without losing the sustainability aspects and XYZ Pharmaceuticals will also be willing to contribute here from their CSR fun. So, it is sustainable.
- Livelihood training, ABC Private Company will be glad to provide this training in order to ensure continuous supply of quality products for their export. So, it is also sustainable.
- Community mobilization; From revolving credit fund and social marketing you will be able to mobilize some resources that you can use for social mobilization purposes of your project.
Please remember, your objective is not making profit but to give services (credit, contraceptive) at affordable prices to the poor. When beneficiaries are very poor to pay, then you will give free services from 10% reserve, make them able to pay by training and access to credit. You can also mobilize community support for project sustainability.
9. Type of support and amounts the applicant requests from USAID (e.g., funds, facilities, equipment, materials, personnel resources, etc.);

10. Brief description of each prospective partner’s previous work and experience, including but not limited to experience working in public private partnerships. This includes the applicant’s previous work and experience.
Describe each partners previous work experience. If private sector partners have experience of working with public sector especially in humanitarian sector give special attention on this. Nowadays every private sector company is involved in some sort of CSR activities which you can use here.
