The U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) are seeking applications for funding under the OJJDP Mentoring Opportunities for Youth Initiative. This program furthers the Department’s mission by supporting mentoring programs to reduce juvenile delinquency, drug abuse, truancy, and other problem and high-risk behaviors.
Award Information
An application may be for a project period of as long as 3 years. Applicants that meet the minimum requirement of having active chapters or subawardees in at least 5 states may request as much as $2 million; and those applicants that demonstrate the broadest reach may request as much as $5 million. An applicant may request as much as $1.5 million for a minimum project period of 12 months and as long as 36 months.

Eligibility Information
- Eligible applicants for National Mentoring Programs are limited to national organizations, defined as organizations that have active chapters or sub awardees in at least 45 states.
- Eligible applicants for Multistate Mentoring Programs are limited to multistate organizations, defined as organizations that have operated an established mentoring program for at least 3 years.
- Eligible applicants for Collaborative Mentoring Partnerships must be part of a collaborative of at least three and as many as five mentoring organizations.
- Eligible applicants must provide mentoring services to youth who are 17 years old or younger.
- If an applicant submits multiple versions of the same application, OJJDP will review only the most recent system-validated version submitted.

Applicants must register in and submit applications through Grants.gov, a “one-stop storefront” to find federal funding opportunities and apply for funding. OJP encourages applicants to register several weeks before the application submission deadline.
