Established in 1986, the Global Fund for Women is a grant maker and a global advocate for women’s human rights. The Global Fund for Women helps to advance the movement for women’s human rights by directing resources to and raising the voices of women worldwide. It invests in local, courageous women and women-led organizations and creates digital advocacy campaigns on critical global issues for women and girls. As of March 2015, the Global Fund for Women has made a total of 10,025 grants ($120,934,544.59) to 4,776 organizations in 175 countries. The Global Fund for Women provides grants ranging from $5,000 to $30,000 per year for operating and project expenses.
