United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is seeking applications form all eligible organizations for Climate Change Adaptation Program. The purpose of this program is to stimulate adaptation projects that assist indigenous mountain communities, rural and urban areas, and local and regional governments potentially affected by GLOFs or changes in water availability. USAID/Peru intends to provide up to $3,500,000 in annual funding for multiple awards under this program.
Thematic areas-
- Climate change adaptation information and priorities have been integrated into regional and local government policies.
- Build the capacity of local or regional governments to integrate climate change adaptation into policy and administration.
- Increase coordination by government institutions on climate change adaptation policy or action, such as by supporting the establishment of commonwealths (mancomunidades).
- Formalize water testing methods and the use of hydrological and meteorological data in decision making by governmental or non-governmental actors.
Eligibility & Criteria-
- USAID welcomes concept papers from Peruvian and International Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), education institutions, partnerships and consortia and For Profit Organizations.
- Concept papers and then applications may include work in more than one landscape but there must be a clear conceptual linkage if more than one landscape is proposed.
