Diakonia is a faith-based organization funded by The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) supporting and working around 400 local partner organizations in about 30 countries. The goal of Diakonia is to change unfair political, economic, social and cultural structures that generate poverty, oppression and violence. Diakonia also receives funding for specific projects from the EU, embassies and other international organizations.
