Relief International (RI) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Finance Manager in Amman, Jordan. The duration for the post is of 6 months.
Relief International is a humanitarian non-profit agency that provides emergency relief, rehabilitation, development assistance, and program services to vulnerable communities worldwide.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Finance Manager will perform the following functions-
- Under direction of the RI Jordan Country Director and in coordination with the other RI country, regional and global staff, provides leadership and coordination in the administrative, accounting, financial reporting and budgeting processes of RI’s Jordan office and its programs to implement, maintain and improve financial management systems, policies and procedures.
- Manage RI Country Finance staff to implement, improve and maintain financial management policies, systems, structures and procedures including procurements and expenditures, inventory, requisition and record keeping systems.
- Provide training, leadership, oversight and direction to RI’s Country Finance staff in order to enhance and develop overseas country Finance Staff capabilities within a growing and expanding organization.
- Train and oversee Country program offices in ensuring compliance with RI procurements and field accounting policies and procedures, compliance with donor agreements and audit requirements.
- Receive ongoing financial summaries from Country offices; check them for accuracy and compliance, and input to RI HQ main Finance Center.
- Coordinate and compile, with country Finance staff, all projects monthly financial reports, statements and special analyses for submission to the International Comptroller’s office in Baku and to RI HQ.
- Coordinate consolidation of monthly transactions into SUN-QuickBooks.
- Prepare/review donor reports for in Country submissions.
- Ensure that financial records and backup documentation in country are ready for internal and external audits.
- Serve as primary liaison relative to the country finance issues during the fiscal year including audit preparation, audit and post audit time.
- Work closely with Country Director and Program Managers in the country to monitor project budgets and actual expenditures.
- Travel to country field locations and assist IAIA with country-based risk assessments and internal audit reviews as required.
- Track field audits and follow up on preparation progress and results in accordance with Controllers’ guidance.
- Support capacity-building for country Finance team financial responsibilities based on survey results, risk assessments, field visits, and otherwise identified troubleshooting needs.
- Perform other duties, assignments, and/or projects as assigned.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Minimum Education: Prefer a Bachelor Degree in Accounting.
- Chartered Accountant or CPA equivalent preferred.
- At least five (5) years experience at a senior Finance level in NGO or non-profit organizations and familiarity with international donor agencies and Governments grants administration.
- Previous INGO overseas experience as in-country Finance Officer or Manager highly desirable.
- Complete familiarity with QuickBooks accounting software.
- Experience with SUN financial software desirable.
- Strong leadership ability and interpersonal skills and the ability to train and motivate others are a must; as are outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to travel widely in the Middle East region and/or regionally.
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Proficiency with computer applications to include but not limited to Microsoft Excel, Word, outlook, accounting software, etc.
