United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Reporting Officer in Amman, Jordan. The duration for the post is of 6 months.
The Reporting Officer will be based in Amman Hub under the direct supervision of the Partnerships Advisor, and overall supervision of the Regional Director.
UNOPS mission is to serve people in need by expanding the ability of the United Nations, governments and other partners to manage projects, infrastructure and procurement in a sustainable and efficient manner.
Key Jobs Responsibility
The Reporting Officer will perform the following functions-
- Develop and regularly update the UNOPS narrative reporting template, in accordance with corporate and donor requirements.
- Draft and produce frequent and thorough reporting to UNOPS donors and partners in the region.
- Provide support and collaborate with the Project Managers and Operations personnel on the development of donor reports.
- Maintain reporting matrix, and review existing agreements in order to improve reporting to donors.
- Report on UNOPS activities as related to UNDAF, strategic and humanitarian response plans.
- Collating inputs to the periodic reports of the Secretary-General to the Security Council.
- Support the regional donor mapping, and assessments on partner needs.
- Provide support to programme/project staff to share knowledge and information as related to donor and partner reporting.
- Draft and prepare press releases and other communication materials.
- Contribute to preparation of briefs and talking points, for discussions with partners in relation to the work of the Partnerships unit.
- Attend meetings (internal and external) relevant to UNOPS, including working groups coordination meetings in areas relevant to UNOPS work.
- Liaise with partners and any other parties as necessary.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Advanced university degree (Master degree or equivalent) in Business Administration, Political Science, International Relations or related fields.
- A first level university degree with a relevant combination of academic qualifications and experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- Minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible experience in strategic planning, UN coordination, monitoring and evaluation, or project development.
- Good knowledge of the situation and challenges for development assistance projects in the Middle East region.
- Good knowledge of the governmental and UN’s planning processes.
- Computer literate, in particular MS Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.
- Accounting and/or financial certificate (CPA, CFA I, or CMA) and PRINCE2 Practitioner are an advantage.
- Excellent spoken and written English. Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
- Previous experience with the UN system in the region is an advantage.
