World Vision International (WVI) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Advocacy Coordinator in Mansourieh, Lebanon. The duration of this post is about 1 to 2 years.

Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Advocacy Coordinator will perform the following functions-
- Engage with national and local stakeholders and represent WVL at relevant national committees and events.
- Interacts and networks with other human rights-based NGOs and community organizations and national coalition groups as requested.
- Provide ongoing, quarterly context analysis on national ministerial changes and/or opportunities for policy influence.
- Support in development of policy briefs and publications for policy reform or implementation.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of WVL’s Advocacy Action Plan.
- Plan and implement relevant advocacy initiatives at national level with support from advocacy manager.
- Understand the social, political and economic context of Lebanon and analyze the different arenas in which World Vision can conduct local level advocacy and how this methodology can be linked to national level systems reform.
- Advice on the implementation of local level advocacy plans within various sectors in the area programmes.
- Assist field staff to plan and organize local level advocacy activities at the area programmes.
- Coordinate between various ADP areas and response advocacy initiatives to influence national or global advocacy efforts under each sector to link.
- Develop tools to raise awareness and promote the application of child rights and local level advocacy methodologies.
- Provide training for staff members and communities to equip them with tools, knowledge and skills on local level advocacy methodologies and child participation among other relevant topics.
- Facilitate participation of children and community members from different backgrounds across social, gender, religions and ethnic boundaries in advocacy initiatives.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Bachelor degree and a Master degree in development, social science, law, international relations or related fields.
- A combination of academic studies and work experience may be accepted.
- Minimum of two years of previous experience working in development or advocacy field, developing policy papers and networking at the national level.
- Good knowledge of human rights/child rights particularly in the Lebanese context.
- Ability to identify gaps and weaknesses in current laws and systems in Lebanon.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Ability to represent World Vision to major program stakeholders and donors in a highly professional manner, in person and in writing.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to travel extensively within Lebanon, and to work effectively with project communities.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Computer literate with a high degree of proficiency and productivity.
- Excellent English skills, in particular writing and editing skills.
- Nationality of Lebanon.
