United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Agricultural Economics Officer in Yangon, Myanmar. The duration for the post is of 1 year.
The Agricultural Economics Officer will be responsible for the establishment of monitoring system for contracts, fund flows and project implementation for the assigned projects, and maintaining regular updates of agriculture sector development.

Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Agricultural Economics Officer will perform the following function-
- Prepare draft terms of reference for “call for concept note/proposals”.
- Participate in the proposal evaluation committee and organize documentations for proposal appraisals and evaluation reports.
- Provide inputs for the preparation of grant support agreements and coordinate with partners for finalization of the agreements.
- Conduct regular review over the project implementation and coordinate with implementing partners and LIFT program support team for necessary revisions related documentations.
- Process requests from implementing partners, and ensure that implementing partners comply with their grant obligations as per UNOPS rules and regulations and LIFT Operational Guidelines.
- Develop, revise and update the reporting and monitoring tools for inclusive agricultural value chain and private sector development projects through coordination with LIFT team and implementing partners.
- Organize required studies and project evaluations.
- Prepare progress reports through reviewing external final evaluation reports, performance reports, semi-annual and annual operational and financial reports from implementing partners to monitor progress in project implementation and in operations, and identify problems/issues.
- Conduct regular project monitoring visits and prepare assessment reports.
- Ensure that LIFT team is updated with development of financial inclusion and private sector development.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- A Master degree in Agricultural Economics or in similar field is required.
- A Master degree in Economics with strong background in Agriculture or a Master degree with strong educational background in Economics and Agriculture will also be considered.
- A Bachelor with an additional 2 years experience is considered as equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience at the Program/Project management relating to agricultural development/economics is required.
- Experience in liaising, coordinating and communicating with the Government and implementing partners is desirable.
- Experience with private sector engagement is an advantage.
- Proficient computer skills especially Microsoft applications is required.
- Fluency in both English and Myanmar/Burmese languages are required (written and oral expression).
