Save the Children is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Infant and Young Child Feeding Practices Assessment Consultant in Croatia. The duration for the post is of 8 weeks.

Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Assessment Consultant will perform the following functions-
- Test survey questionnaire.
- Sample survey participants.
- Conduct interviews on IYCF practices.
- Conduct focus group discussions on IYCF practices.
- Train interviewers/translators in conducting interviews and focus group discussions.
- Coordinate with SCI in country nutrition/health advisor and with SCUK Senior Nutrition Advisor.
- Coordinate with local government authorities, UN agencies and other partners in the assessment areas.
- Prepare the list of logistic requirements for whole assessment process and coordinate with SCI logistic department for its timely availability.
- Take care of all logistics materials and their appropriate use.
- Ensure security of team in coordination with SCI security advisor.
- Share records of interviews and focus group discussion for further analysis by SCUK.
- Prepare a report describing assessment implementation.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- At least 5-7 years of experience working in the field of nutrition and Infant and Young Child Feeding in emergencies.
- Good knowledge and understanding of IYCF-E assessments, indicators and operational guidance.
- Significant experience of working internationally for nutrition surveys and IYCF assessments in a humanitarian or development context.
- Proven capacity to supervise, train and coach staff in nutrition technical skills for assessment.
- Computer literacy including knowledge of relevant data collection software.
- Master’s degree in Nutrition or Public Health.
- Willingness and capacity to be flexible and accommodating when faced with difficult and frustrating working conditions.
- Experience working within the humanitarian environment in crises and managing complexity.
- Political and cultural sensitivity with qualities of patience, tact and diplomacy.
- Strong personal communication skills and ability to conduct interviews and focus group discussions.
- Ability to facilitate liaison with different stakeholders.
- Good training skills, with a proven ability to build capacity of others.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Ability to communicate effectively in Arabic and/or Farsi.
