World Food Programme (WFP) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Internship for Public Information in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. The duration for the post is of 3 months.
The WFP is the world’s largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Internship for Public Information will perform the following functions-
- The Annual Action Plan implementation for Information-Communication.
- Design, writing, production and editing of documents, information/liaise with WFP communication staff at Regional Bureau and/or HQ.
- Production of content and articles online, various messages, stories, press releases, photos or other elements in social networks and on WFP website.
- Writing of articles for WFP quarter newsletter and the SNU website, as well as the monitoring of different matters.
- Management of press and media relations.
- Management of the CO web page on WFP website and on the UN
- Organization of ceremonies and field visit.
- Taking pictures during ceremonies organized by WFP.
- The organization of a WFP photos bank.
- Translation of various documents in French or English.
- Performing of daily tasks under the Public Information Focal Point.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Recently graduated in the last 12 months in the following studies: communications, public relations or journalism; completed at least two years of undergraduate studies.
- Attended courses in the last 12 months.
- Basic knowledge of public and media relations.
- Writing skills and strong understanding of social media.
- Mastering computer skills in Windows environment (Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher, internet, etc.).
- Mastery of basic website administration and image processing software (Photoshop, In Design, etc.).
- Proficiency in French and English and excellent drafting skills in these languages.
- Dynamic, enthusiastic and proactive approach.
- Good sense of initiative, sociable, reliable and eager to learn.
- Good analytical and synthesis skills.
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment, work independently and within teams.
