Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Green Growth Project Developer in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The Green Growth Project Developer will play a central role within the GGGI Indonesia team by providing technical assistance to the GoI on feasibility of project, policy levers to mobilize green growth projects.
GGGI is dedicated to supporting the transition of GGGI Member countries towards a green growth model by developing and implementing strategies that simultaneously achieve poverty reduction, social inclusion, environmental sustainability and economic growth.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Green Growth Project Developer will perform the following functions-
- Lead the development of at least four green growth programs.
- Overseeing the development of program/project proposals involving energy subsectors and various forest and land based mitigations, in collaboration with technical partners.
- Package innovative and attractive landscape-wide program proposals or project specific proposals (e.g activities in one concession with one private sector/investor) which deliver multiple green growth outcomes.
- Identifying and engaging with potential technical partners who can implement the green growth activities.
- Lead the engagement with potential donors to secure their financial support for green growth implementation.
- Facilitate institutionalization of green growth policy guidelines in SEZ planning.
- Support the development of fiscal and investment policy papers for specific green energy subsectors, forest and land based mitigations and special economic zones, including assessments of feasibility of relevant incentives and risk mitigation policies.
- Lead the assessment and development of an integrated landscape decision tool to support informed policy and investment decisions at sub national level.
- Support the identification and preparation of bankable projects.
- Identifying opportunities to mainstream the eCBA technique into government processes and refine the production of a set of recommendations to specific target audience.
- Lead training workshops at the national and sub-national level to strengthen GoI counterparts’ capacity in relevant sector specific and cross sectoral green growth policies.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Master degree in economics, preferably with a focus on policy related to environment and economics/financial incentives.
- At least 10 years of relevant professional experience, ideally with an international organization or NGOs.
- Exceptional synthesis and strategic thinking skills to ensure the delivery of projects which can demonstrate green growth drive and scale up green growth investments.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving and green growth skills in support of pre-feasibility assessments in the energy, SEZ and forest and land use sector and broad understanding of sustainable landscape management.
- Ability to communicate complex green growth related issues in a clear and simple way to a diverse audience.
- Multi-cultural literacy and easily adaptable.
- Actively seeks and considers diverse ideas and approaches and ability to work as part of a team and in a start-up organization.
- Ability to deliver quality products independently with minimal supervision.
- Prior experience with GGGI would be a strong asset.
- Strong oral and written English is essential, fluency in Indonesian / Bahasa is highly desirable.
