World Health Organization (WHO) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of National Professional Officer in Rabat, Morocco. The duration for the post is of 2 years.
The National Professional Officer will work as a WHO country team member to provide technical support for the Health Sector in Morocco.
The primary role of WHO is to direct and coordinate international health within the United Nations’ system.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The National Professional Officer will perform the following functions-
- Liaise and correspond with national authorities to ensure development, implementation and monitoring of the joint Morocco/WHO action plan, including on Non Communicable Diseases and Social Determinants of Health.
- Review requests made by national authorities to implement planned activities in the joint action plan.
- Provide advice to the national health programs supported by WHO.
- Participate in task forces, thematic groups and other similar forums serving WHO technical support to the country.
- Manage the planning, implementation, assessment and reporting of activities included in the work plans of WHO-supported programs, including in areas of non-communicable diseases and social determinants of health.
- Review technical reports for the WHO Representative and contribute to preparing presentations to national and inter-country workshops, training activities and meetings in the country.
- Organize and facilitate workshops and meetings in the context of non-communicable diseases and social determinants of health.
- Perform other activities as suggested by WR.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- University Degree in Health or Social Sciences.
- Post graduate degree in public health, health systems development, health economics, and health sociology.
- Demonstrated ability to assess, plan, coordinate and monitor related activities.
- Sound knowledge of public health issues.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with national counterparts and country office staff at all levels.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- At least two years of relevant experience in the field of Public Health at the national level.
- At least 2 years working experience with WHO or UN agencies.
- Excellent knowledge of French and Arabic. Good working knowledge of English is an asset.
