The Bank for International Settlements (BIS) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Valuation Controller based in Basel, Switzerland.
BIS is an international organisation promoting global monetary and financial stability and is a bank for central banks.
Key Job Responsibilities
The Valuation Controller will perform the following functions-
- Play a key role in the periodic independent verifications of the fair values of the Bank’s financial instruments.
- Contribute to developments of complex valuation adjustments/reserves, the Bank’s model validation activities and the analysis of the Bank’s financial performance.
- Maintenance and improvement of IT pricing infrastructure.
- Provide consulting on valuation, accounting and market-related issues for the Bank’s Management or the Finance department as required.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- University degree in a quantitative discipline, such as finance, mathematics or physics
- Several years of experience in a valuations-related function (cross-asset class experience preferred).
- Deep knowledge of financial products and pricing models
- Strong Excel and Visual Basic skills. Knowledge of C++, Matlab or relevant pricing software would be an advantage.
- Experience of Bloomberg, Reuters and other information systems.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a good team worker. Able to work with little supervision and to organise and prioritise own work accordingly.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
- Excellent command of written and spoken English. Other major world languages a plus.
