UN Women is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Project Specialist in Bishkek city, Kyrgyzstan. The duration of this post is 6 months.
The Project Specialist will support the implementation of the UN Women activities in the area of Women, Peace and Security in the country.

Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Project Specialist will perform the following functions-
- Ensure administration of the projects; adapt processes and procedures focusing on achievement of the project results.
- Coordinate national implementing partners towards effective and efficient cooperation on project implementation; oversee and support the organization of trainings and events.
- Provide support in developing and implementing the projects, entering projects into Atlas, in preparation of required budget revisions.
- In close cooperation with the Project Coordinator prepare drafts, work plans, budgets, proposals on implementation arrangement and reports required for the purposes of annual planning, resource mobilization, collaboration with partners, reporting to donors etc.
- Ensure timely and adequate implementation of activities under the relevant AWP, monitor the budget utilization/implementation in lieu with the AWP and project log-frame.
- Maintain the internal expenditures control system which ensures that vouchers processed are matched and completed, transaction are correctly recorded and posted in Atlas; maintain shadow budget.
- Gather necessary information from other relevant programmes and document.
- Liaise with implementing partners on routine implementation of the project activities, track use of resources, train and monitor expenditure reports as per FACE.
- Undertake field visits monitoring on implementation of the project activities when needed.
- Assist international staff with interpretation during meetings and missions.
- Perform other tasks as required, such as taking minutes, assisting other thematic areas of the office.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Postgraduate or 5-year university degree in social sciences or other relevant discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of administrative or programme experience at national level.
- Work experience to include no less than 2 years in the United Nations system; and/or international NGO; and or civil society organizations; and/or Government; and/or a relevant private sector entity.
- Work experience must include exposure to public administration or social or economic development activities.
- Work experience must include field/mission experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of programming in the area of gender equality and/or women’s social, political or economic empowerment and of conflict prevention and peace-building methodologies.
- Proven experience in writing project documents and project reports.
- Good numerical skills.
- Competent in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.).
- Fluency in English and Russian.
- Working knowledge of Kyrgyz.
- Nationality of Kyrgyzstan.
