The Conquer Cancer Foundation together with ASCO International is currently accepting concept notes (short proposals) from organizations working in low and middle income countries for its International Innovation Grants of $20,000. The foundation seeks to create a world free from the fear of cancer by funding breakthrough research, by sharing knowledge with physicians and patients worldwide, and by supporting initiatives to ensure that all people have access to high-quality cancer care.
One-year research grant of up to $20,000 will be awarded and paid directly to a nonprofit organization or governmental agency in a low-income or middle-income country. The grant may be used by the organization only for the approved, budgeted costs of the research project. Each grant will have a Principal Investigator who is an ASCO member, is affiliated with the Grantee Organization, and is a resident of the low-income or middle-income country.
Thematic Areas
Applicants are encouraged to be innovative in their research proposal. Proposed research projects could include, but are not limited to:
- Health services and delivery research (including use of telemedicine)
- Research on effective strategies for cancer prevention
- Epidemiologic research
- Pharmacoeconomic research
- Standard treatment outcome research and therapeutic trials investigating affordable treatment regimens
- Research on delivery of palliative care
- New models of clinical training or workforce utilization
- Research on clinical infrastructure (impact of improved equipment or supplies)
