Terre des Homes Netherlands has announced a new call for proposals to address sexual exploitation of children in select countries in Asia.
This Call for Proposal aims to protect children from online child abuse (child abuse materials, live streaming of child abuse) and sexual exploitation of children in travel and tourism.
It specifically aims to address the following outcomes:
- Children at risk and survivors of sexual exploitation online and in travel and tourism claim their rights
- Families and communities protect children from sexual exploitation online and in travel and tourism
- Government protects children by making and adequately implementing laws and policies to protect children from online sexual exploitation and sexual exploitation in travel and tourism
- Law enforcement agencies convict perpetrators of sexual exploitation online and in travel and tourism
- Civil society organisations protect the rights and best interests of children (and children vulnerable to) sexually exploited online and in travel and tourism
- Private sector contributes to the wellbeing of children sexually exploited online and in travel and tourism
The following countries are eligible for funding:
- Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Nepal, Philippines, Sri Lanka and Thailand
Asia for regional level lobby and advocacy (focused on the countries mentioned above, e.g. lobby and advocacy at ASEAN and SAARC level)
Each programme proposal should consist of at least 3 local NGOs, local networks or other local non-traditional development partners e.g. research institutes. Terre des Hommes Netherlands has a preference to fund local NGOs, however doesn’t exclude international organisations or stakeholders, but they cannot apply as the lead applicant.
Co-applicant(s) participate in designing and implementing the programme.
