The ViiV Healthcare, in collaboration with its partners, is calling for proposals for the Positive Action Fund for Children (PACF). The aim is to provide support and to deliver the prevention services of mother-to-child transmission of HIV, which empowers mothers and children across the globe. The PACF is focused on NGOs that can deliver changes on community levels. This fund cannot be requested for more than 50% of an organization’s income. Since the minimum fund request is £75,000 over 3 years, if your organization’s annual income is lower than £50,000, you may not qualify for this application. And thus several smaller community based NGOs are encouraged to submit applications together or with larger NGOs. In addition, the targeted child age of this fund is 19 years old or younger.
Your application should be submitted as a concept note and online form format before March 12, 2013. Your NGO will need to register before the application submission here. Community engagement, participation and/or leadership are mandatory requirements for all PACF funds:
- The fund is dedicated to helping HIV affected communities improve their own outcomes
- The PACF supports projects run in full and active partnership with communities
The project summary (150 words), you may leave this until you finish all of other sections, is a brief introduction and justification of the proposal. Most importantly, it should contain the problem you choose for the project to solve. In this funding, the problem could be gender equity in education and health, or poor knowledge of HIV infection of youth, etc. One of these problems could be the target of the project and is needed to be included in the summary. The other content is the solutions to the problem, which means the plan that you design to solve the problem. For example, enhancing the education system or community assistance to solve the problem of HIV infection could be the solutions. A few of other sentences could be written to express the goal, the objectives and the innovation of your project. A good summary will start with the problem and its severity, the solutions to the problem and its impact to the society, the expected results, and the goal and objectives which the project will finally reach.
