The mid-career journalist working in broadcast news and current affairs that are willing to deepen understanding of issues to do with Food Security and of the role of the broadcast journalist in covering them are invited to apply for the RNTC short course on Multimedia Journalism to be held from 16 March – 24 April 2015.
The participants of the course will be familiar with their role and responsibility in covering issues of food security; impact of new and social media and their relevance to the practice of broadcast and multimedia journalism; writing, researching and producing for the internet using text, photos, audio and video; preparing, researching, and carrying out broadcast and multimedia journalism assignments on food security topics; and working in a multimedia newsroom, generating story ideas and content for broadcast and new media.
Participants who successfully complete the course (sessions and assignments) will receive an RNTC certificate and become alumni.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be currently working as a broadcast journalist with at least three years experience in or for broadcast media.
- Applicants must be used to working with computers and have good computer skills.
- Application must be accompanied by a motivation (150-200 words) in English explaining why s/he wants to follow the course.
