The Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars and the Middle East Program have jointly launched Visiting Arab Journalist Program for Arab journalists from Middle East/North Africa region to spend three months in United States. The visiting journalists will carry out their own policy-oriented research and writing in the Woodrow Wilson Center situated in Washington D.C.
The visiting journalists will get $5,000 monthly stipend, and health insurance. They will carry out a full schedule of independent research and writing based on the topic outlined in the research proposal submitted at the time of application.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be Arab individual working in the Middle East or North Africa in the Arabic media.
- Applicants may be working in print, television, radio or electronic media.
- Applicants must be currently working as reporters and columnists or broadcasters.
- Applicants must have at least five years of professional experience and must be able to work in both written and spoken English and Arabic.
- Candidates must hold valid passport and obtain a J1 Visa.
Application materials include- description of a proposed project (maximum 1,000 words), curriculum vitae or resume, a writing sample, two letters of recommendation, along with the completed application form.
