The Hague Academy invites professionals working for municipal, provincial or national government, for a donor organization or NGO and who are involved in anti-corruption , transparency and accountability processes in relation to development and governance to apply for NFP/MSP to participate in the short training course entitled Integrity and anti corruption to be held from 29 June – 10 July 2015. The short course designed to broaden the participants understanding of the complexities of corruption, its root causes, and impact on society will enhance the knowledge and skills of participants to develop a sustainable policy for the promotion of integrity.
After completing the short course on integrity and anti corruption, the participants will be able to examine the cross-cutting nature of corruption and the social impact surrounding it. They will gain insight in the importance of integrity for well-functioning, transparent (government) institutions and for economic growth. The participants are expected to be able to deal with challenges related to anti-corruption and integrity policies; identify instruments for increasing transparency and accountability; and better understand the international framework of anti-corruption conventions, protocols and best practices.
Those participants will come to know how the Dutch policy for integrity of civil servants is shaped and organized.
The course will discuss
- International anti- corruption framework and related integrity policies.
- Role of various actors and international instruments in eliminating corruption and promoting the rule of law.
- Roles and responsibilities of the different actors in promoting integrity in organisations.
- Seven building blocks of integrity & coherence of integrity policies with the overall financial and HR-policy.
