The Maypole Fund invites applications from women or women’s group involved in projects which supports females from any kind of issue including male violence.
Maypole Funds helps women who aim to works for women’s political and social autonomy around the globe. Maypole has previously granted funds up to 750 British Pounds to India, UK, Britain, Nicaragua and Uganda to strengthen women against domestic violence. Priority is given to individual woman or small group of women.
Grants from the Maypole Fund ranges around £750 & are given every year to 10 or 12 applicants.
Areas of Interest
- Peace initiatives, disarmament and action against the arms trade;
- Anti-militarism and action against male violence;
- Nuclear issues;
- Environmental issues;
- The promotion of women’s social and political autonomy throughout the world;
- International, national and/or regional networking between women for the above purposes.
Who can Apply
- Applicants must be project initiated by women group working women’s right issues.
- The foundation prioritise small women’s groups and individual women over larger and more established women’s groups or organizations.
- The foundation give precedence to projects by individual women or women’s groups over women’s initiatives within mixed groups of women and men.
- It also prefer specific one-off projects and projects not yet started to projects already started or completed.
- Applications are welcome from women who do not have access to other sources of money or whose projects find it difficult to attract funding elsewhere.
How to Apply
- The completed application form has to be sent to the email address given on the website.
- The application form should include the following details:
- Description of the activity the candidate would like the Maypole Fund to support.
- Inclusion of bank details and mail address.
- Clearly state how the candidate’s activity fits in with Maypole’s AIMS.
- Budget and cost breakdown.
- Give a breakdown of the costs.
