The Berghof Foundation Grants programme is designed for innovative and state-of-the-art projects in the field of conflict transformation. By means of a regularly revised thematic focus, it seeks to address issues that we believe to be of future relevance to our field, and support projects that provide insightful and innovative impulses to researchers and practitioners.
Individuals as well as non-profitmaking organisations (NGOs, INGOs, CSOs) are eligible to apply.
The Berghof Foundation has a long-standing history of funding research and practice projects of like-minded partners in the field of conflict transformation. The Grant for Innovation in Conflict Transformation is designed for innovative and state of the art projects in the field of conflict transformation. The thematic focus of this programme changes regularly.
Grant Amount & Duration
- There is no minimum funding amount for this programme. The maximum funding amount is specified in the call for proposals.
- The maximum funding duration is two years.
Eligibility Criteria
- Organisations as well as individuals may apply.
- There are no geographical restrictions for applicants or projects, unless otherwise specified in the call for proposals.
- Proposals should be for new projects. Ongoing project activities are not supported.
- All applications including all documents, must be submitted in English.
Application Process
- Applications for the Grant for Innovation in Conflict Transformation are only accepted in response to a published call for proposals. Unsolicited applications are not accepted. The application process is divided into two phases: the initial application and the full application phase.
- The initial application must be submitted via our online application form. Submissions and applications in any other form cannot be considered for funding. The online form is available only when a call is active.
- The following documents must be uploaded in PDF format during the online application process:
- A letter of inquiry using the standardised Grant Application Form with a length of three pages maximum,
- Curricula vitae for all project staff of three pages maximum per person, compiled in a single PDF file.
