The Evens Foundation is a public benefit foundation based in Antwerp, Belgium and with offices in Paris and Warsaw. The Evens Foundation initiates and supports sustainable projects, and awards biennial prizes, that contribute to the progress and strengthening of Europe based on cultural and social diversity.
The Evens Foundation initiates, develops and supports projects that encourage people and ultimately nations to live together harmoniously in a diverse Europe. It promotes respect for diversity, both individual and collective and works to strengthen people’s physical, psychological and moral integrity.

Prize for Peace Education
Evens Foundation through the Peace Education prize focuses on skills that facilitate a constructive attitude towards conflict.
Peace Education is about teaching and learning the skills and attitudes needed to manage and/or resolve conflicts so that they do not escalate into violence. It is about developing tolerance, understanding and respect for others, as well as self-respect. It involves an understanding of (structural) injustice and is inextricably linked to human rights and democracy.
Award Information
The awardee will receive a sum of €25,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- Only registered organisations, associations or institutions based and working in the European Union are eligible to participate for the prize.
- Only ongoing initiatives/practices in existence for two years or more are eligible.
