In the “Objectives” section of the proposal format, you need to write the project’s main goal and then list out the specific objectives.
There is always a difference between the Goal and the Objectives. A Project Goal generally has a broader perspective like for example, “to conserve the art forms of the indigenous community.” We know that it is not just our organization which is working to conserve the art forms of the community. There are other forces in action to achieve the same goal such as the Government, other organizations and even the community as well. When different entities including your organization are working towards a broader objective, then it becomes the goal. In many cases, the goal is unattainable by a single entity within the duration of the project.
The objectives are more specific. They relate to the exact achievement of your organization while implementing the project. Without getting confused with “activities,” the objectives should be set as targets to measure the success of the project at a later period.
If “Enabling political participation of tribal people” is a project goal in an education-based thematic intervention area, then a specific objective can be: “Increase the knowledge of tribal communities on politics, governance structures, electoral systems and constitution of the country.”
