The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Bureau for Democracy, Conflict and Humanitarian Assistance (DCHA), Office of Conflict Management and Mitigation (CMM) is seeking applications to carry out activities that mitigate conflict and promote reconciliation by bringing together individuals of different ethnic, religious, or political backgrounds from areas of civil conflict and war.
USAID anticipates approximately US $16,000,000 will be available to support the program(s) or activity(ies) although final funding levels will depend on content, quality, and number of applications received, needs, availability of funding, and competing priorities.
The objective of this funding opportunity is to make significant strides in the overall goal of conflict mitigation, peace, and reconciliation through the implementation of people-to-people (P2P) activities in selected eligible conflict-affected countries.
Eligible Countries
Europe/Eurasia – Georgia, Ukraine
Africa – Ethiopia, Guinea, Mali, Rwanda, Senegal (includes programming in The Gambia and Guinea Bissau), Somalia, Zimbabwe.
Asia – Philippines, Sri Lanka.
Eligibility Information
- USAID encourages applications from potential new partners. USAID will not accept applications from individuals.
- S. and Non-U.S. Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), U.S. and Non-U.S. Non-Profit Organizations, U.S. and Non-U.S. For-Profit Organizations, U.S. and Non-U.S. Colleges and Universities are eligible to apply.
- Public International Organizations (PIOs) may apply for funding.
- Any applicant may submit more than one application for funding in response to this RFA. There is no limit to the number of applications any one entity, local or non-local, may submit.
Application Process
A complete application consists of two parts: 1) Technical Application and 2) Cost Application. The Technical Application and the Cost Application should be separate from each other (i.e. separate documents/files). Applications must be submitted electronically.
