Deadline: 19 May 2015
The US Agency for International Development Mission in Zambia – USAID/Zambia is requesting for applications for the District Coverage of Health Services Project (DISCOVER-H). The purpose of the District Coverage of Health Services (DISCOVER-H) activity is to reduce preventable morbidity and mortality in Zambia. This will be achieved by ensuring that:
- High-quality, integrated health services are increasingly available and used by target groups; and
- Provision of integrated health products and services is sustainable.
The anticipated total federal funding amount is $65,000,000. The anticipated program start date is July 2015 for a five year period.
The Zambia Demographic and Health Survey (ZDHS) 2013-13, has estimated Zambia’s HIV prevalence among 15-49 year olds to have declined to 13.3%from 14.3%. While prevalence has decreased since 2007, Zambia still suffers from one of the world’s most devastating HIV and AIDS epidemics, with an estimated one in eight adults living with HIV. Therefore, a clear need exists for Zambia to increase its focus on the activities to reduce the transmission and impact of HIV.
