The US Agency for International Development (USAID) is accepting applications to manage and implement the Feed the Future Livestock Project.
The Feed the Future Initiative seeks to sustainably reduce global poverty and hunger, recognizing the need to increase global agricultural production by 70% by the year 2050 to provide sufficient food for the world’s growing population. The Livestock Systems Innovation Lab program will work across three broad geographic regions: East Africa, West Africa, and Asia.
Funding Information
Contingent on the availability of funds, the estimated life-of-project budget for the new Livestock Systems Innovation Lab is up to $49 million for five years: October 1, 2015 to September 30, 2020.
Eligibility Information
- Applications may only be submitted by eligible U.S. colleges and universities as defined under Section 296(d) of Title XII of the Foreign Assistance Act.
- USAID strongly encourages applicants to include qualified Minority-Serving Institutions (MSIs) including, but not limited to, Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Predominantly Black Institutions (PBIs), Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs), Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs), and Asian American Native Alaskan and Pacific Islander Serving Institutions (AANAPISIs).
- USAID strongly encourages applications from potential new partners.
Application Process
All applicants must have a DUNS number and hold an active U.S. Government’s System for Award Management (SAM) registration at the time of application submission. Applications received after the closing date and time may not be considered.
