LGBT Foundation aims to help lesbian and bisexual women to lead healthy and happy lives. It provides a range of services to enhance mental health and wellbeing as well as offering opportunities for women to socialise, learn new skills and access support if they need it.
The foundation offers a range of FREE monthly skills workshops for lesbian, bisexual and transgender women and their friends. Workshop topics vary widely – from cake decorating to circus skills, sign language to bike maintenance, the foundation tries to provide an interesting programme of activities.
Established in April 2000 following the merger of Healthy Gay Manchester and Manchester Lesbian and Gay Switchboard Services, it has continued to provide a wide range of support and services including a national helpline, sexual health testing and support, free mental health and wellbeing services, the Village Angels volunteers, support groups, and advice for tackling LGBT hate crime and discrimination.
The foundation believes in a fair and equal society where all lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans people can achieve their full potential.
