Women’s Campaign International was founded in 1998 by former Pennsylvania Congresswoman Marjorie Margolies in order to promote women’s equality by equipping individuals and communities with the skills, knowledge and opportunities necessary to create worldwide, sustainable change.
In partnership with local communities, WCI focuses on areas that are fundamental to women’s equality through building skills that help women become effective agents of change. WCI does this through trainings, workshops and technical assistance in the following areas:
- Political Leadership
- Conflict Mitigation
- Economic Empowerment
- Civic Participation
WCI’s programs include workshops, trainings and dialogue on conflict transformation and gender within the context of the Quran, financial literacy, the Afghan Constitution, civic participation, human rights, inter-gender communication, leadership, media and messaging, public speaking, campaign skills strategies, coalition and consensus building, constituent relations, negotiation, effective leadership, caucus formation, diplomacy, management, leadership, strategic planning and community mobilization.
