The specific incidence and the distinction sections require 2-3 paragraphs and less than 1500 characters for each of them. For the specific incidence section, you may tell an excellent story to describe what unique activities your nominee has done in the past 3 – 10 years on achieving the goal and the recognition. You will need to convince the reviewers that the activities have been predominant and have solved the problem with efficiencies. The important thing is that the activities have to be closely correlated to the efforts and the goal you mentioned in the previous sections. The activities should include how the NGOs are engaged in the specific incidence. You may follow the way of how those activities have been described of the previous winners, which will increase the qualities of your story and the award opportunities.
For example, if your nominee supported orphaned and disadvantaged children, you should demonstrate how the incidence affected local children’s lives and what roles it played in it, and how it affected other young people in the society. The WAC awards also want to know if any of the nominee’s activities would have long term impact on the local children’s lives, and enhanced significantly the local knowledge and services for child health care and life.
The distinction section is about results or impact on the children’s lives derived from the nominee’s specific incidence. A clear and significant description may go through all of those distinct impacts that happened in the past 3-10 years, depends on the award type you are nominating. For example, an impact could be: “the healthy rates of orphaned and disadvantaged children increased remarkably compared to other societies due to the changes of residential conditions and sufficient food supplies;” or “the educational coverage rates of orphaned and disadvantaged children increased remarkably.” The most important part is that those impacts have to be sustainable or even replicable to other communities, because that is what the award will be funded for. The award will be granted directly to the distinct and sustainable program to enhance or maximize the roles of the predominant hero and the NGO on the improvements of local children’s lives.
