You may one morning receive an email from a certain agency in Europe or US, saying that it is offering a donation to your NGO. Before you respond to it, control your nerves and do some research about this agency. If no similar email is found on the internet, then start searching by the name of the “agency.” If such an agency exists, visit its website and contact it immediately, alerting it about this email scam because no reputable donor agency will send an email offering a donation!
For example, the email below claims that an agency named “Stichting INGKA Foundation” is giving away money in millions to charities.
If you search for “Stichting INGKA Foundation” on Google, you will come to know that it is a Dutch-based charitable foundation and unfortunately, its name has got associated with this scam. On its website, the Foundation warns internet users of such fake emails and suggests to avoid responding to them.
